Very busy week past and coming so let's get right to it.
Big thanks to the huge crowd that came out for the full day of rugby at the club on Saturday. In the two league games the club came out on top with the Women beating the Irish and the Men's A side topping the Mudmen in Maritime Elite League action. In exhibition action the Men's B side drew 22-22 with the Mudmen. Beautiful day of rugby and great crowd supporting the teams from berm.
Saturday was also the last day of flag rugby for the year. This was another banner year for the program with over 220 kids taking part. A massive thanks to the full crew of coordinators and coaches who make this such a success. Feedback from parents is incredibly positive and the smiles on the kids faces tell their story. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This week/weekend is fixing to be another very busy one and contains some international flair. On Thursday night the St.Pierre Et Miquelon XV make their reciprocal visit to Canada after our trip last year to France. They arrive on Thursday night just in time for our inaugural Loyalist Story Night.
Our club is built on a lot of history and sharing those through storytelling is one way to build pride in where we’ve come from and where we’re going. Everyone has a story, and Thursday night 6 of our fellow Loyalists will share one of theirs.
Join us at the Clubhouse after practice – storytelling starts at 830pm and features: James Mitchell, George Bidlake, Malcolm MacAfee, Alison Aiton, Brent Rowney and Peter Pacey.
To make things even busier on Thursday night - Ron Squires will be onsite to take our swag orders. Attached is the swag order form so you can see what's in the closet.Loyalists%20Order%20June%202018.pdf
Friday, we host some rugby! The international match kicks things off at 5:30 with the Loyalists Select XV taking on SPM XV in a modified rule exhibition game. That will be a curtain raiser to the main event - a Friday night league match up of our Women vs Moncton RFC. Kickoff for that one is 7pm.
Saturday is a day off on the pitch for the club because Canada is hosting the USA in Halifax. Lots of Loyalists, and the SPM XV are heading down to catch that one.
More tour festivities are planned with the tourists on Sunday at the club.
Should be a great week sharing old stories and creating some new!
See you at the club - Si
