This past weekend was another successful one for the club and it sends us into an even bigger weekend for the club coming up this weekend. The A side was on a bye and the B side hosted the Trojans in the Provincial B semi-final. That game was close to start but our strength and depth wore the visitors down and the final was a decisive 52-7 victory. The B side moves on to the final in Moncton this Saturday at 1pm.
Meanwhile on the A side, the club will host the Trojans for the McNair Cup on Saturday at 2pm. Hoping for a big crowd!

TGIF! Lets go into the weekend on a great note!
Loyalist Malcolm MacAfee was nominated and won Coach NB / entraîneur NB's "Lifetime Excellence Award" for over 25 plus years coaching rugby in NB, Fredericton and the club from youth to senior to provincial to club everywhere in between. The award presentation will happen at the da club next Thursday, Sept 22nd. after practice is done. As well there will be a steak and stein too! So please stop by and celebrate all the Macdaddy has done for 25 plus years for rugby and everyone who has had the pleasure of being one of his charges and his ever lasting influence. Awesomeness!
Last week saw and wonderful gathering to honour Malcolm MacAfee and all he has done in coaching players of all levels as well as developing coaches at all levels. CoachNB was onsite along with a big crowd to award Malcolm with a Lifetime Excellence Award. A Rugby Canada representative was also on hand to present him with a signed jersey. Thanks for everything Mac!
On the field there was only one game last week which saw the B side host the Trojans in the B side semi-final. Things started off tight but our strength and depth wore a tough young Trojan side down and we wound up with a convincing 64-7 victory. That puts the B side through to the Finals and that brings us to what is on tap this week.

This week is Coaches Week in Canada and we have a very special event on Thursday to celebrate one of our great coaches; more on that later.
Quick recap on the action from last weekend. In our doubleheader at home on Saturday the club came away with a split. In the first game the B side hosted league leaders Moncton RFC and ended up on the wrong side of a lopsided scoreline against a very strong B side. Final score was 64-14. Despite the result the B side ended up in 2nd place in the B division and will host the Trojans in the B division semi-final this Saturday.
On the A side the boys were looking to lock up first place in the NBRU A division and secure a bye this week and a home game for the Provincial final. They were successful, coming away with a 28-19 win. Try scorers were Austin Comeau (2), Charles Doak, and James Mitchell. Johnny Cullen converted all 4. Eric Duplessis was named Man of the Match.
